The Friday Story

MIRROR, MIRROR

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, tell me the future, and that's not all;

I want to know what will come next;

I want to know the who, when, and how.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, why do you not speak; tell me the answers to the questions I seek;

What makes one strong and another weak?

What makes one strive for greatness and another accept mere mediocrity?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, upon which I gaze, and ponder on life's elaborate maze;

Why?

Why not?

The Mirror speaks…

"It is for you not to know… it is for you to discover, uncover, and recover. Now go forth from this mirror, and do not return. For the answers you seek to your many questions will not be found here. For only in serving others will you find life's meaning. In reflection and struggle will you find truth and wisdom. In the sacrifice to your fellow men and women will you find love. And, in the giving of one’s self to another, you will find true happiness.”

Until Next Friday,
