SUPERMAN

Superman
February 8, 2013

"How are you?"

"Good."

"How's work?"

"Good."

"How's the family?"

"Good."

"Anything exciting happen lately?"

"Not really."

"Are you planning anything special with your family soon?"

"Nope."

"There appears to be a pattern developing here."

"Pattern?  What pattern?"

"The pattern of mediocrity."

"So, is that bad?"

"Absolutely!  With as much talent as you have; your background, your high potential, this is really, really bad."

"You are making too much of this.  I am just tired, and I need a break."

"What you need is too wake up, get up, and move up."

"That's a lot of "ups." You sound like you want me to be Superman - Up, Up and Away...soaring great heights at work, caring and loving his family, doing wonderful things to make a world a better place.  Up, Up, Away there goes...me!"

"Perfect!  Yes, I want you to be Superman."

"Hey, I was just kidding.   Plus, I really look bad in tights."

"You could be the ‘man of steel’ but you are choosing to be ‘good’ and not ‘great’ in what you do.  You are allowing the ‘kryptonite' of good to weaken your great to the point of mediocrity."

"I can't listen to this anymore.  You are too far gone."

"It's you are going to be gone.  No one wants to work with someone who settles for mediocrity.  Someone that accepts  ‘good’ as the standard.  No customer wants ‘good’ products and services.  No family just wants a good dad or a good husband."

"Your standards are too high."

"Are they really?  As opposed to your standards being too low?"

"You make my head hurt.  I don't want to talk about this anymore."

"It's been said before, ‘good is the enemy of great’ and ‘great’ starts with believing that anything is possible; anything can be achieved; any obstacle can be overcome."

"This is that Superman thing again."

"Superman may be a fictional character, but doing great things and accomplishing the impossible is all too possible.  You must believe in yourself, work hard, ask others for help and stay on the right path, the high and great road."

"Sometimes, I wonder why I talk with you at all."

"I believe in you.  You are meant to do great things.  Up, Up, and Away..."

"You have got to cut down on how much coffee you are drinking ...."

Until Next Friday,
