RESTLESS

I am restless, and I really don’t understand why.

  • Is it because tragic world events disrupt and disturb an otherwise peaceful day?

  • Is it because news of global warming and the environmental consequences dim my outlook?

  • Is it because many of the world leaders’ words hurt, divide and confuse?

I am restless, and I am beginning to understand why.

  • When I see the tears and hear the cries of agony on the news, I can feel their pain.

  • When I read the global warming research and see the environmental protests on the television, I feel the urgency to act now.

  • When I hear the speeches and read the social media of our world leaders, I shake my head in disbelief.

No wonder I am restless. The world is restless. But what I am to do?

  • Who am I to stop the tragedies; the hatred?

  • Who am I to stop the environmental practices that compromise our future?

  • Who am I to change the views of our world leaders from isolation to unity and peace?

I am restless, and I now know why. I will remain restless, and the world will remain restless, until…

  • We put aside our hatred by forgiving the past and letting go of the pain.

  • We act locally and globally to respect our environment and nurture our climate as if we were with a loved one in the hospital who is reaching out to hold our hand.

  • We must become the leaders we are meant to be by embracing those that are disenfranchised, lonely, and forgotten with our kindness, compassion and love.

I am, for now, restless.

Until Next Friday,
