ONE LETTER AT A TIME

Although we were tired when we arrived at your property door,
Because of last-minute work, a long plane ride, rental car, and more;
Clearly, we hoped for the best upon our arrival,
Doing more than the ordinary was key to our vacation survival.

Even when I raised an objection at your front desk,
For I thought you would not pass my customer service test,
Great attitudes, bright smiles, and eye contact put away our fears;
Having more than we expected almost brought us to tears.

Inviting decor, comfortable seating, and great food enlivened our senses,
Joy would be our experience as we lowered our New York defenses;
Kicking up our heels, we headed for the fun,
Looking around the place, we couldn't have asked for more.

Music, beverage service, lights and ohhh so clean,
Now my wife commented that you make her feel like a queen!
Oh, so this is what a visit to a nice resort can be?
Practically everything is right before me.

Questioning what could possibly be next,
Responding quickly, you suggested your food is the best;
So I made a promise to my wife that I wouldn’t be a bore,
Tomorrow we will laugh, eat, and play a lot more.

Understanding that she was right all these years,
Vacation has arrived, so put away all my work fears;
We'll watch a great show or two, and stay up late,
Exhilaration, excitement, love... wow, it's all great!

Yes, we are a couple wishing to leave our hurried, rushed recent past,
Zzz-z-z-z... please “Do Not Disturb.”  I want this vacation… to last!

Until Next Friday,
